Custom Glodwing from Chuck Watts

Here you can see a good job from Chuck Watts. He has customized a 1978 Goldwing original.
(I put some of Chuck's comments)

Now the original bike:

Then the customized bike (purists don't continue, he he).

What Chuck says:

"I am a chronic "can't leave well enough alone" guy.

This is my 1978 Goldwing GL1000. This bike is all original parts except the rear fender (an aftermarket Harley Softail fender). This is even the original seat (after working it over with an electric carving knife and then recovering it).
I've had this for 3 years. The only miles (about 20) I put on it "as bought" was from the guy's house I bought it from to my house. I immediately took off the fairing and bags and installed the spitfire windshield.
Next I just had to add the Harley Softail fender to the back and paint it. Removed every Honda Logo at that same time.
This year - I removed the back rest and custom shaped the seat.
That's where it stands now, but I think this Winter I'll put a new paint job on it.I love the Goldwings - I'm sure a lot of "purist" would like to crucify me for the custom work I've done, but I personally think the "accessories" hide a truly beautiful bike. And that stock Goldwing suspension is awesome. When I compare it to cars it's like riding the Cadillac of motorcycles with a Corvette power train. "

Thanks a lot Chuck.
